DENTAL FILLING TREATMENTS IN GILMER
Protective & Natural-Looking Tooth Fillings
Fillings act as a protective barrier to repair teeth that have been damaged due to decay or damage. These dental fillings can be made of a variety of materials, including porcelain, gold, resin, or silver. At Gilmer Family Dental, we proudly offer porcelain inlay and tooth-colored restorations—also known as onlays—to deliver fillings that are not only beautiful but also strong. We offer our high-quality tooth filling treatments to patients in Gilmer and the surrounding areas.

Why Choose Tooth-Colored Restorations?
Because fillings are needed to protect your teeth from decay, it is important to choose a material that forms a tight and lasting bond. Resin onlays not only form a tight bond but also contain fluoride to help prevent further decay. Additionally, these tooth-colored restorations can be used in instances where much of the tooth structure has been lost. If the decay isn’t as extreme, we might offer a porcelain inlay, which can last over 15 years and is resistant to staining for a long-lasting and beautiful solution.
At Gilmer Family Dental, we strive to provide best-in-class treatments while also keeping our patients informed and educated about their oral health. That is why Dr. Gunjan Dhir, and the entire team, is dedicated to answering your every question and sharing all your options with you before your filling procedure begins.

Replacing Silver Fillings with a Tooth-Colored Restoration
The dental field has advanced leaps and bounds over the last decade, and many offices are no longer offering silver fillings, including ours. These fillings are unpleasant looking, wear down and become weak faster than newer options, and contain up to 50% mercury—which can corrode, leak, and cause stains on your teeth and gums.
If you have a silver filling, or fillings, our team is happy to replace them with either a porcelain inlay or resin onlay. This process requires two appointments.
During the initial appointment, we will remove the old filling, clean your tooth of any additional decay, and create an impression of your teeth. This is used as a model to create your new onlay. We also place a temporary onlay in to ensure your tooth is protected in the interim. On your second appointment, we remove this temporary cap and bond your new onlay to your tooth, polishing it for a beautiful and natural-looking finish. Our team at Gilmer Family Dental is honored to help our community find lasting and high-quality teeth protection and will go the extra mile to deliver results that leave you smiling.
